HOW DO THE COURSES WORK?
REGULAR CLASSES
GERMAN FOR EVERYDAY LIFE
LEVEL A1–B2
This is a general course for all who want to learn German for everyday life. We work with a book suitable for your level and use a variety of additional materials regarding your individual interests.
We also watch videos from Basel, produced especially for my classes. We work on vocabulary and grammar based on the content of the videos and simulate similar dialogues, which can be practiced in live situations.
In this course we work with special books preparing you for the exams A1/ A2/ B1/ B2 competence specified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We practice all four parts of the exam: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
PREPARATION FOR THE EXAm Swiss Nationality 1: GERMAN LANGUAGE
LEVEL A2–B1
Some of you have been lived in Basel for many years. Maybe you are considering applying for Swiss nationality.
For the Swiss passport you need to pass a German exam (writing A2.1, reading A2.2, speaking B1). I can help you to prepare for it. We work with a special book, practicing all what you need: listening, reading, writing and speaking.
SPECIAL CLASSES
PREPARATION FOR THE EXAm Swiss Nationality 2: SWISS CULTURE
LEVEL B1
In this special course, you can discover Swiss culture. We talk about arts, literature, dance and theater, cinema and architecture.
Culture is an important part of the exam for Swiss nationality. Also, this knowledge will help you to discover new places and instituts, so you can better integrate into the life in your new homeland.
GERMAN FOR ARCHITECTS
LEVEL B2/ B2+
Consolidate your communication skills for the workplace. We focus on practical spoken language use, with topics such as making official appointments, understanding contracts and discussing specific subjects, for example sustainability in architecture. We use special books for architects, videos and audios. The goal is to become more confident at work and improve your professional performance.
CONVERSATION CLASSES SWISS ART & CULTURE
ADVANCED
In this course we talk in a small group about Swiss art, architecture, dance, film etc. Since I am not only a German teacher but also an art historian with a journalistic background, I can give you an insider's look at different Basel's institutions. You can get to know musicians, photographers, dancers and artists, who work in Basel and are an important part of this vibrant city’s cultural landscape. We use different teaching materials (short videos, audio books, art magazines etc.) and talk with invited experts.
MUM & BABY
ALL LEVELS
I am more than happy to work with mums coming to my classes together with their babies (up to 6 months of age). Learning German and getting to know the local culture at the same time is a fantastic way to enjoy your maternity leave!
We work with videos, books, newspapers and other teaching materials.
